Come, join the rhythm of life,
the primal drumbeat before all creation.
Listen to the Drummer God,
the Artist of original Syncopation.
You can hear her rhythm as creative hands
play on the skin of the Drum,
the Christ,
Rhythm become flesh,
whose life was hollowed out from a tree,
but continued to play as the echoing
in the soul of all who hear
the unseen Rhythm, the Spirit of the Beat.


Come, join in the rhythm of life,
playing the primordial Pulse ,
using diverse gifts, upbeats, backbeats,
and downbeats
the Spirit has left for this sacred ensemble
called the church.
Play with abandon and joy
